Privacy Policy

StepsApp  ·  Last updated: April 14, 2026

StepsApp ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

Data We Access

StepsApp reads the following data from Apple HealthKit and CoreMotion on your device:

How Your Data Is Used

All health and fitness data is used exclusively to display your daily activity, trends, and goal progress within the app. Your data is never sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.

Data Storage

All health data remains on your device. StepsApp does not transmit your health or fitness data to any external server. Step history and settings are stored locally using Apple's UserDefaults and HealthKit — both protected by iOS security and your device passcode.

Your health data never leaves your device. We have no servers that store it and no ability to access it remotely.

Social Features (Friends)

If you choose to use the Friends feature, your display name and daily step total are shared with friends you explicitly add. This data is stored securely on our backend (Supabase) and is only visible to your confirmed friends. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.

HealthKit

StepsApp integrates with Apple HealthKit. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, market research, or any purpose beyond in-app activity tracking. We comply fully with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.

Children's Privacy

StepsApp is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
